About the role
The Research Associate 1, SOM will work on mitochondrial regulation of leukemic/hematopoietic stem cells or red blood cell maturation research projects under the supervision of the senior staff.
Responsibilities
- Use a variety of model systems and techniques to conduct basic and translational research, including in vitro (cell culture) and in vivo (mice) models.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
- Collect, prepare, analyze, dissect, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures.
- Process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail; ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines; ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion; commitment to the University’s core values; ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
