Research Analyst

About the role

The Research Analyst position within the Research and Evaluation (R&E) Division of the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) at Texas State University is tasked with conducting scholarly research focused on school safety, security, and health. The TxSSC is a key component of the Texas Education Code and the Governor’s Homeland Security Strategic Plan, serving as the central hub for disseminating safety and security information through research, training, and technical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scholarly research focused on school safety, security, and health.
• Collaborate with a team to conceptualize, collect, analyze, and disseminate research and evaluation findings to various stakeholder groups.
• Support the development of best practices and guidelines for creating safe, secure, and healthy learning environments in schools and communities across Texas.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in a relevant field such as education, psychology, public policy, or a related social science discipline.
• Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school safety, security, and health issues.
• Experience with data collection and analysis techniques.
• Understanding of educational policies and procedures.
