Rescue Partner Programs Specialist

Purpose

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a part-time Rescue Partner Programs Specialist to support lifesaving efforts through various programs.

About the Role

This role is based at the Papago Park Campus and operates Thursday – Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and bring a collaborative, compassionate approach to their work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate animal transfers
• Communicate with rescue partners and community members
• Maintain accurate records
• Ensure animals safely move between shelter locations and off-site partners
• Transport animals
• Support medical and intake processes
• Manage program data
• Aid with special projects as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years old
• Previous experience in veterinary field preferred
• Ability to perform health checks, TPR exams, and vaccinations preferred
• Minimum of two years' experience in providing exemplary customer service
• Experience in working with difficult or combative customers a plus
• Familiarity with cash handling operations is required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer
• Proficiency with multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Must be able to operate in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
• Must be able to handle animals in all conditions
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills required
• Must demonstrate excellent oral, written, and public speaking skills

• Physical Demands/Work Environment: frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to dust, heat, cold, temperature changes, wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander; most time spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment
