About the role

This is a full-time hybrid reporter role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. The reporter will research, gather, and verify information related to maintenance, energy, and petroleum sector activities, producing timely and accurate news reports and features.

Responsibilities

• Attend briefings and site visits.
• Conduct interviews with subject-matter experts.
• Monitor industry developments and company announcements.
• Write clear and engaging news stories.
• Create multimedia content where applicable.
• Collaborate with editors and communications teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards.
• Meet deadlines and maintain ethical reporting practices.
• Adapt content for various channels and formats.

Requirements

• Strong reporting and news writing skills for accurate, clear, and timely coverage.
• Excellent communication and writing abilities to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
• Multimedia skills to produce or collaborate on visual and digital content supporting written reports.
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and sound judgment in verifying sources and information.
• Relevant experience in journalism, media, or communications, preferably with exposure to industrial or energy sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems, and basic data analysis or research methods is advantageous.
