About the role

KPIX-TV is seeking a Multi-Skilled Journalist (MSJ) to join our dynamic team. This position requires a passion for community storytelling, creativity, and a strong social media presence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pitch story ideas for on-air daily newscasts
• Create and edit news content for broadcast and digital platforms
• Maintain and cultivate relationships with community sources
• Create engaging content for Twitter, Facebook, and other social media
• Work independently and meet tight deadlines

Requirements

• Experience in television reporting
• Ability to shoot and edit broadcast-quality video
• Strong social media skills
• Flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends
• Team player with the ability to multitask

Qualifications

• College degree in Journalism/Communications/Broadcasting preferred
• Minimum of 4 years MSJ/television reporting experience
• Valid drivers license required

Preferred Qualifications

• SAG-AFTRA union membership
• Ability to work independently with accuracy and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Broadcast ENG camera, lighting, audio, and Live U
• Strong social media skills and ability to contribute on all platforms
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines

Pay

Hiring salary range: $135,000.00 - 145,000.00. Starting pay depends on various job-related factors.

Flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
