About the role
The Patient Access Representative (PAR) is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, customer service and clerical support.
Responsibilities
- Accepting, recording and verifying insurance information
- Processing preauthorization requests
- Collecting copays and account balance payments
- Scanning documents into EMR
- Completing other responsibilities accurately and timely as needed or assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent OR - GED
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
- 1 year experience in Patient Access
- General Experience with and Knowledge of insurance requirements, insurance verification, and 3rd party billing
