About the Role

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, customer service, and clerical support. This role ensures efficient department operations while maintaining a friendly, courteous, and considerate manner when interacting with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Accept, record, and verify insurance information
• Process preauthorization requests
• Collect copays and account balance payments
• Scan documents into Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Perform administrative tasks to support department operations
• Complete additional responsibilities accurately and timely as needed or assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent OR GED (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education)
• 1 year of experience in Patient Access
• General experience with and knowledge of insurance requirements, insurance verification, and third-party billing
