JOB SUMMARY

The Rental Sales Specialist is responsible for the Caterpillar and Allied fleet rental sales for the Cat Rental Store. This role supports the Cat Rental Store's growth strategy, revenue targets, and margin goals by visiting customer job sites within the central-Ohio territory.

COMPETENCIES

  • Business Development: Increase rental revenue by fostering strong relationships with existing and potential customers through regular job site visits within the designated territory.

  • Rental Targets: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed rental sales and profitability objectives, including complete rental opportunity pipeline: lead generation, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and closing. Leverage marketing and sales tools to meet customer targets by identifying and selling to new rental customers, existing customers, and recovering dormant customers.

  • Technical Proficiency: Provide technical assistance for customers regarding product specifications and applications that provide accurate solutions tailored to their needs. Learn how to use our IT systems for quotes, rental, sales, reservations, and territory management.

  • Sales Tools: Maintain accurate sales and customer pipeline activity records in CRM software. Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Rental Coordinators, Rental Sales Representatives, Rental Sales Management, and other departments to provide accurate quotes and secure equipment to satisfy customer needs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong customer service skills: Essential, with minimal sales experience needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent: Required.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills: Demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness.

  • Collaborative mindset: Essential for department teamwork.

  • General knowledge of construction equipment: Preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills: Highly valued.

  • Ability to work independently: Highly valued.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

  • A moderate amount of travel within your region to support the sales team.
