Rental Business Development Manager - Pacific, WA
About the role
A successful candidate will develop strategic sales plans, identify profitable opportunities, and deliver customized fleet leasing and rental solutions while building strong client relationships, analyzing financial and operational needs, and positioning GTL's full suite of services to deliver measurable value to customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic pre-sales plans for target accounts within GTC’s area of responsibility (AOR).
- Build a rental truck customer base that achieves 70%+ utilization for GTL rental fleet.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline sufficient to meet and exceed established revenue and quota objectives.
- Identify and qualify prospects through proactive outreach, referrals, and lead follow-up.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and prepare value-based proposals tailored to each prospect’s operational and financial goals.
- Analyze account profitability, competitive influences, and risk factors to structure optimal FSL and rental solutions.
- Represent the full spectrum of GTL services, including full-service leasing, maintenance, and rental programs.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and ensure full accountability for all lease and rental documentation, including contracts, maintenance records, billing, and compliance paperwork.
- Ability to perform administrative duties, monthly fixed and variable billing, requesting COI and other required documents from customers.
- Maintain accurate account profiles and sales activity records in CRM systems.
- Ensure compliance with all sales protocols, policies, and company standards.
- Continuously improve industry knowledge, sales techniques, and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of five (5) years of lease / rental management and sales experience.
- Proven experience in transportation, fleet leasing, rental, and maintenance environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle leasing solutions and value-based selling strategies.
- Advanced ability to interpret financial statements and evaluate account profitability.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of five (5) years of lease / rental management and sales experience. Proven experience in transportation, fleet leasing, rental and maintenance environments preferred.

- Physical Demands: Requires standing, bending, stretching, use of a telephone and manipulating a computer keyboard. Some heavy lifting.
- Environmental Demands: Mostly indoor work. Some noise while working around operation departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- Additional Information: Off-hour shifts may be required for travel and/or special events. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8AM to 4:30PM.
- Compensation: $81,000 - $90,000 salary based upon experience plus monthly incentive of up to $500 per month and commission on rental truck revenue.
