Remote Volunteer School & Counselor Outreach Specialist — Scholarships

About the role

We are seeking volunteer School and Counselor Outreach Specialists to help connect school counselors, college-access staff, educators, and student-support teams with accurate scholarship information for underserved youth and young people.

Responsibilities

• Research priority schools, districts, counseling offices, college-access programs, and appropriate contacts
• Share approved eligibility language, timelines, application links, toolkits, and event invitations
• Cook up virtual counselor briefings, presentations, reminders, and follow-up
• Maintain accurate outreach, relationship, questions, commitments, and next-step records
• Gather feedback about applicant barriers and information needs
• Route eligibility interpretations, exceptions, complaints, and sensitive questions to authorized staff
• Protect student and counselor information
• Avoid collecting applications outside approved systems or influencing review decisions

Qualifications

• Experience in school counseling, college access, scholarships, education, outreach, admissions, or community programs
• Strong professional communication, presentation, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to work within school policies, calendars, and privacy expectations
• Comfort with email, phone, virtual meetings, CRM, and spreadsheets

Benefits

This is a remote, recurring role available within the United States. Expect approximately 3–6 hours per month, with seasonal peaks.
