Responsibilities

  • Participate in scheduled committee meetings, reviews, learning, and assigned projects
  • Examine approved volunteer, participant, partner, digital, event, scholarship, and communication practices for barriers
  • Recommend improvements to accessibility, language, representation, outreach, accommodations, and respectful engagement
  • Create checklists, resources, feedback methods, and progress measures
  • Distinguish documented findings, lived experience, community feedback, and personal opinion
  • Protect participant, personnel, volunteer, donor, demographic, accommodation, and incident information
  • Avoid tokenizing individuals, demanding disclosure, speaking for entire communities, or making personnel or eligibility decisions
  • Refer legal, medical, mental-health, safety, or discrimination concerns to authorized owners
  • Support constructive accountability and nonretaliatory feedback

Qualifications

  • Experience or lived perspective related to accessibility, inclusion, disability, education, youth programs, community engagement, policy, research, or organizational change
  • Respectful listening, collaboration, confidentiality, reflection, and practical problem-solving
  • Familiarity with accessibility, trauma-informed practice, nondiscrimination, and responsible demographic data is helpful
  • At least 18 years old and willing to complete screening
  • Ability to work across different perspectives without claiming universal representation

Pay

Remote, recurring committee role available within the United States.

Schedule

Expect approximately 2–5 hours per month.
