About the role

We are seeking volunteer Copywriters to help us create and refine audience-centered messaging for students, families, educators, mentors, volunteers, and partners. The role involves writing copy for various platforms and adapting content for different audiences and channels.

Responsibilities

• Write copy for websites, landing pages, email, social media, ads, guides, presentations, workshops, and product interfaces
• Create headlines, calls to action, short explanations, stories, and campaign messaging
• Adapt tone, reading level, length, and format for distinct audiences and channels
• Research approved sources and flag claims requiring subject-matter review
• Edit for clarity, accessibility, grammar, consistency, and iLevelUP voice
• Apply SEO and answer-focused practices without keyword stuffing
• Protect privacy and use respectful, strengths-based language about underserved youth
• Incorporate editorial, program, accessibility, and compliance feedback

Qualifications

• Portfolio or demonstrated experience in copywriting, communications, journalism, marketing, education, or nonprofit storytelling
• Excellent grammar, editing, research, and audience-awareness skills
• Ability to write concise, inclusive, action-oriented content
• Reliable remote collaboration and deadline management
• SEO, UX writing, email, or youth/education experience is helpful
