About the role

We are seeking volunteer Scriptwriters to help us create clear, engaging scripts for various educational materials targeting underserved youth and young people. These materials will include explainer videos, animations, workshops, and digital learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts for explainers, lessons, interviews, voiceovers, animations, social videos, workshops, and presentations
• Translate complex topics into clear structure, dialogue, examples, and calls to action
• Define visual, audio, pacing, caption, and on-screen-text cues
• Adapt scripts for different audiences, reading levels, platforms, durations, and accessibility
• Research approved sources and identify claims needing subject-matter review
• Collaborate with producers, editors, animators, designers, presenters, and program teams
• Revise scripts through structured review cycles
• Ensure privacy, rights, and respectful representation of youth and communities

Qualifications

• Portfolio or experience in scriptwriting, education, video, animation, advertising, journalism, theater, podcasting, or digital media
• Strong storytelling, structure, dialogue, research, and editing skills
• Ability to write for voice, visuals, timing, captions, and varied audiences
• Reliable remote collaboration and deadline management
• Youth, education, or instructional-media experience is helpful
