About the role

The Institute of Applied Canine Science is seeking a freelance video editor to help produce high-quality educational content for dog trainers and handlers. The role involves editing a range of videos, from short promotional and social media pieces to longer online lectures, workshops, and training videos. Footage may be captured on multiple camera types, including Canon EOS R, DJI drone footage, and occasional iPhone videos, often accompanied by trimmed and labelled B-roll content.

Responsibilities

  • Edit a variety of educational content, including short promotional and social media pieces, longer online lectures, workshops, and training videos.
  • Work with a range of camera types, including Canon EOS R, DJI drone footage, and occasional iPhone videos.
  • Ensure consistency with the institute's brand standards.
  • Use modern editing technology, including AI, to produce clean, professional, and engaging content.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working remotely with some advantage if based in or near Manchester.
  • Provide training, feedback, and ongoing support to develop a long-term, growing partnership.

Requirements

  • Reliable and detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity with pacing, viewer engagement, and modern editing technology.
  • Experience producing clean, professional educational or documentary content, especially for long-form or lecture-style materials.
  • A genuine interest or background in dogs is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience with AI-driven editing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a consistent brand style.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
