Remote Senior Audit Manager | $160k - $225k
Location: 100% Remote (US-based)
About Us
We are a Midwest-based, independently owned public accounting and advisory firm with over five decades of history serving privately held businesses, global public companies, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals across a wide range of commercial industries. With nearly 18% growth over the past two years and a median employee tenure approaching 8 years, we have built something that most firms cannot claim — a firm that grows and retains its people at the same time. We are nationally recognized, a multiple-time Best Places to Work honoree, and have fully embraced remote work as a real operating model. Our remote professionals lead engagements, develop teams, and make partner.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Audit Manager, you will serve as a senior leader within the assurance practice — managing a portfolio of complex engagements, developing the next generation of audit professionals, and working directly alongside partners on client strategy and firm growth. This is not a role where you manage the work while someone else owns the relationship. You are the relationship — and the firm will invest in you accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a portfolio of financial statement audit engagements across a diverse commercial client base — from planning through issuance
- Serve as the primary client relationship owner on complex, high-value engagements
- Review and sign off on workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports
- Mentor, develop, and retain senior associates and managers — building the next tier of firm leadership
- Collaborate directly with partners on business development, client strategy, and practice growth initiatives
- Apply deep technical knowledge to complex accounting issues — ASC research, financial reporting matters, and client-specific challenges
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including recruiting, thought leadership, and process improvement
Requirements
- Active CPA required
- 8–10+ years of public accounting audit experience with meaningful time in a senior leadership or management role
- Proven track record managing complex engagements and high-value client relationships end-to-end
- Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and financial statement auditing across commercial industries
- Experience developing and retaining audit staff and managers
- Strong business development instincts — you understand that client relationships are built, not assigned
- Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable leading in a fully remote environment
