Remote Audit Manager | $120k - $170k
About Us
We are a Midwest-based, independently owned public accounting and advisory firm with over five decades of history serving privately held businesses, global public companies, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals across a wide range of commercial industries. With nearly 18% growth over the past two years and a median employee tenure approaching 8 years, we have built something that most firms cannot claim — a firm that grows and retains its people at the same time. We are nationally recognized, a multiple-time Best Places to Work honoree, and have fully embraced remote work as a real operating model. Our remote professionals lead engagements, develop teams, and make partner. We are hiring an Audit Manager to join our assurance practice in a fully remote capacity — with real client ownership, real visibility, and a clear path forward.
The Opportunity
As an Audit Manager, you will lead financial statement audit engagements across a diverse commercial client base, develop junior staff, and serve as the day-to-day owner of your client relationships. This is not a role where you manage the work while someone else owns the client. You are the face of the engagement — and the firm will invest in you accordingly.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage financial statement audit engagements from planning through issuance across a diverse commercial client base
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client relationship owner on active engagements
- Review workpapers, lead fieldwork, and ensure engagements are delivered on time and on budget
- Mentor and develop senior associates and staff through the full engagement lifecycle
- Collaborate directly with partners on client strategy and business development
- Apply technical accounting knowledge to complex issues — ASC research, financial reporting matters, and client-specific challenges
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including recruiting, thought leadership, and process improvement
What We Are Looking For
- Active CPA required
- 5–6+ years of public accounting audit experience with at least 1–2 years managing engagements or supervising teams
- Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and financial statement auditing across commercial industries
- Strong client-facing communication skills — someone clients trust and want on their engagement
- Experience developing and mentoring audit staff
- Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable leading in a fully remote environment
