About the Role

This position is remote-based. Candidates with National Leave Administration experience are highly preferred. The role manages the center of expertise for leave of absence administration within the HR Service Center, overseeing all aspects of colleague management, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews.

You will lead projects such as the implementation of new tools, policy improvements, and process enhancements. As a subject matter expert, you will develop, interpret, and administer relevant policies while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of HR service center operations. The role requires a thorough understanding of Workday, Neocase, Kronos, and their integration with other systems to ensure procedural compliance and efficient workflow management.

You will build collaborative relationships with Total Rewards, Health Ministries, HR Operations, Legal, and vendors to optimize leave administration. The position involves evaluating team productivity, establishing metrics, and providing updates to HR and Health Ministry leaders. You will also resolve inquiries, develop processes, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations to mitigate risk for Trinity Health.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of colleague management, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, and merit increases.
  • Counsel team members and provide training tools and guidance for success.
  • Lead projects (e.g., implementation of new tools, policy/process improvements) by establishing timelines, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and ensuring objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for leave administration policies, ensuring compliance and integration with other HR service center areas.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Workday, Neocase, Kronos, and their downstream impacts on benefits, pay, and other areas.
  • Ensure procedural compliance for colleague contacts, including case creation and resolution within service levels.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Total Rewards, Health Ministries, HR Operations, Legal, and vendors.
  • Manage team operations, including cross-functional projects, training, and marketing department services to Health Ministries and leaders.
  • Evaluate case productivity reports, establish team analytics, and monitor metrics.
  • Provide project and customer service updates to HR and Health Ministry leaders.
  • Develop or modify processes to meet business needs and resolve inquiries regarding scope of work and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain positive work relationships between Health Ministries and internal/external departments.
  • Promote continuous improvement and develop sustainable, efficient processes within guaranteed SLAs.
  • Serve as the key expert in applying laws, regulations, policies, and systems to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health’s Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, and other policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in leave of absence administration, occupational health, disability management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of program/strategy development, trend analysis, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and policy interpretation.
  • Healthcare, multi-state/multi-site, and call center/shared services experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of benefits and leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADAAA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, DOL, Section 125, federal/state/local leave laws).
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative, and relationship-building skills for effective vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to facilitate teams, influence outcomes, and manage complex relationships across the organization.
  • Familiarity with Workday, UKG Dimensions, and Case Management systems preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HRIS and downstream impacts on benefits, pay, and other areas.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, judgment, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional HR projects, set priorities, and deliver results.
  • Skills in continuous improvement and data analytics.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat XI STD preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to set and organize work priorities in a frequently changing environment.
  • Capacity to work concurrently on multiple tasks/projects in a potentially stressful environment with diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, and adapt to interruptions while managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Up to 10% travel to Trinity Health sites may be required.
  • Frequent communication (in person, phone, video conference) with stakeholders across locations.
  • Hearing required for extensive telephone and in-person communication.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard use and ability to work ergonomically in an office or remote environment.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $47.23 - $70.81.
