About the role

Nalco Champion, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Energy Services – Supply Chain group in Garyville, LA. This role offers competitive base rates and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures to improve reliability.
  • Ensures robust mechanical integrity program compliance with industry codes and company standards.
  • Develops equipment maintenance and reliability strategies.
  • Establishes common SAP equipment hierarchy, BOM’s, master data, etc.
  • Develops resolution plans for maintenance items in the plant, collaborating with process engineers and maintenance.
  • Addresses day-to-day issues in the plant and serves as the primary point of contact for resolution.
  • Participates on teams (both capital and non-capital) to provide a maintenance perspective for project requirements.
  • Affirms work is performed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
  • Addresses issues between Nalco and Jacobs to achieve desired results.
  • Works with project leaders to ensure contractors meet all safety requirements and perform work properly.
  • Collaborates with all levels of the organization to focus on continuous improvement and the Planned Maintenance module of TPM as well as the output of the Maintenance Catalyst effort.
  • Owns maintenance metrics.
  • Engages in equipment reliability & failure analysis, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), failure modes, and bad actor tracking.
  • Familiarity with methods like Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Knowledge of rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, vessels, piping systems, and predictive & preventive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography.
  • Understanding of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Experience with CMMS systems and SAP for tracking work orders, history, and trends.
  • Basic engineering knowledge, particularly in mechanical systems, with some exposure to electrical and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and equipment drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related experience supporting Maintenance & Reliability Engineering projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, reliability, and construction.
  • Successful planning, priority setting, informing, results, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong maintenance management skills (SAP is a plus).
  • Interpersonal savvy and problem-solving abilities.
  • Action-oriented for delivering results.

Pay

The annual or hourly compensation range for this position is $85,900.00 - $128,900.00. Many factors are considered when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
