Release of Information Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and personable Release of Information (ROI) Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for a true people person who enjoys interacting with others and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Processing and completing medical records requests with accuracy and efficiency
• Answering phones and assisting patients, providers, and other stakeholders with professionalism and courtesy
• Retrieving and returning patient charts
• Scanning and maintaining medical records within the electronic system
• Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor, consistent with the individual’s skills and abilities

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and dependability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable engaging with patients and staff in a professional and compassionate manner while maintaining strict confidentiality standards
• Solid understanding of computer systems, particularly electronic medical records
• The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities effectively
