Release Of Information Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process requests for patient health information
• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
• Accurately retrieve, review, and disclose health information within regulatory time frames
• Receive and validate authorizations
• Release information in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and hospital policies

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of HIM experience
• Previous Release of Information experience preferred
• Preferred RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
• Associates - Health Information Management or related field education preferred
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
• Effective navigation of electronic health record and computer systems
• Cerner Oracle knowledge preferred
