Release of Information (ROI) Analyst I
Job Duties
- Gain fundamental understanding of day-to-day operations and how it impacts the functions within ROI
- Knowledge of medical records and affiliated components
- Able to access, move, forward, and enter requests from email and fax folders into the electronic health record (EHR)
- Open, sort, distribute, and data entry of EHR ROI incoming mail requests
- Validation of release of information forms for completeness and accuracy
- Identifies invalid requests and processes requests for return to the requestor for remediation
- Extracts patient portal requests from work queues into EHR system and completes data entry
- Manages phone calls and responds to status checks, requests for records, and basic questions about medical record releases
- Processes basic non-billable requests
- Uses appropriate distribution methods for records and processes these records using different technology methods and platforms
- Develops a sound knowledge of ROI processes required for on-call coverage/weekday coverage for various medical record scopes
- Maintains patient confidentiality throughout day-to-day tasks
- Becomes familiar with policies related to the ROI team
- Utilizes multiple computer systems
- Additional tasks as assigned
