Registered Respiratory Therapist - Weekend Nights

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They independently make decisions, educate patients and families, and mentor new staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Administer aerosolized medications, perform airway management, and interpret waveforms and blood gases.
• Manage ventilators, including weaning and troubleshooting.
• Educate patients and support professional development for staff and students.
• Ensure safety and quality standards, including accurate documentation, promoting evidence-based practices, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP upon hire.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skills.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with team members and patients.
