Registered Respiratory Therapist - Full Time Night

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides essential respiratory care, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as ABG analysis, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance. They assess and treat both adults and neonates, adhering to departmental policies and under indirect supervision of medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostics including ABG, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and EKGs, with interpretation of results.
• Prepare treatment evaluations through physical assessments, patient interviews, and medical record reviews.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment such as ventilators and blood gas analyzers.
• Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilize effective communication with patients to enhance satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardio Life Support certifications.
• Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Minimum of 6 months respiratory care experience.
