Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Director, and CNO, the Enterostomal Therapy/Wound Care Nurse provides direct care for patients with fecal and urinary diversions and manages wound care. The role involves consulting with the health‑care team on acute and chronic wounds, actively preventing and treating pressure ulcers, and delivering staff education and policy management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for patients with fecal and urinary diversions.
• Manage wound care, including assessment, treatment, and documentation.
• Consult with interdisciplinary team members on acute and chronic wound management.
• Prevent and treat pressure ulcers through evidence‑based practices.
• Educate staff on enterostomal therapy, wound care techniques, and related policies.
• Develop, update, and enforce wound care and ostomy policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state(s) of practice or an active compact license.
• Current BLS certification per SDH policy (required within 2 business days of start date).
• Certification in Wound Care/Ostomy (CWON) (required within 2 business days of start date).
