RN, Certified Wound Care Lead, WOCN

About the role

Successful candidate will have WOCN certification. $5,000 sign-on bonus available to external candidates – in accordance with Sutter Health policy + excellent benefits! Serves as a clinical expert for wound, ostomy, and continence related issues to all clinical and administrative staff in their location. Provides oversight and management to wound, ostomy and continence patients through digital and in-home consults. Provides wound, ostomy, and continence education to clinical staff and plays an accountable role in supply management and utilization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wound, ostomy, and continence education to clinical staff.
• Manage supply utilization and inventory for wound, ostomy, and continence products.

Requirements

• RN license in California.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification.
• CWON – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse certification.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Minimum 8 years of recent relevant experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Skills

• Demonstrated clinical expertise in wound care, including pharmacology, medical terminology, and aseptic technique.
• General knowledge of nursing theories, concepts, practices; medical terminology; anatomy; physiology.
• Working knowledge of healthcare industry, safety precautions, best practices for patient care and privacy, and local/state/federal regulations.
• Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook) and Electronic Health Record systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in an interrupt‑driven environment.
• Problem‑solving skills: identify, evaluate, and resolve standard issues using established options.
• Commitment to protecting patient Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.

Pay

$78.49 to $109.88 per hour (range may vary by geographic location).

Schedule

Full‑time position; 8‑hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with rotating weekend requirements.
