Responsibilities
- Evaluating patients prior to surgery
- Educating patients and families
- Preparing patients with medications and therapies
- Participating in surgical site verification
- Responding to emergencies
- Documenting patient conditions
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior surgical experience preferred
- Circulating and scrubbing skills advantageous
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive acute care nursing if new to OR
- Registered Nurse license and diploma required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of start
