Registered Nurse Supervisor - Nursing Float Pool

About the Role

This position ensures adequate staffing across all nursing units and supervises hospital activities in the absence of senior management. Key duties include providing supervision and guidance by visiting departments, interpreting policies, coordinating patient placement, and responding to staffing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Screen incoming patients for appropriate admission and transfer, facilitating proper care levels.
• Serve as the hospital’s administrative representative, acting as a spokesperson, investigating incidents, and addressing issues proactively.
• Consult with on-call administrators and coordinate emergency operations when required.
• Perform clinical functions as needed and handle patient, family, and physician complaints, collaborating with relevant departments for resolution.
• Assign staffing for upcoming shifts, utilizing a mix of full-time, PRN, and agency staff, adjusting schedules in KRONOS.
• Use competency and orientation checklists for staff reassignment and monitor performance feedback.
• Conduct PFT reviews for PRN pool associates and collaborate with staffing personnel to optimize resource utilization.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• RN License in the state of employment or a compact license
• BLS certification
