Duties Description
As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff including:
- Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
- Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
- Developing daily staffing plans for nursing care
- Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric if they have:
- A license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, and 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders.
- A master’s degree in nursing may substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
- A doctorate in nursing may substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
- OR 1 year of experience as Registered Nurse 2 (and all parenthetics) or Registered Nurse 3 (and all parenthetics).
- OR 2 years of experience as any Grade 18 or higher position that requires a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Additional Comments: Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($82,326), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,852), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000) and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($10,230), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000) and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000). Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment.
7% shift differential for evening shift. 10% shift differential for night shift.
