Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric (NY HELPS), Rochester Psychiatric Center, P28065

Responsibilities

Rochester Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric to supervise registered nurses and direct care. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff including:

• Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
• Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
• Developing daily staffing plans for nursing care
• Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements

Requirements

Candidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric if they have:

• License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, and 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders.
• Substitution: A master’s degree in nursing may substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a doctorate in nursing may substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
• OR Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional requirements:

• Must maintain license and registration; failure to do so may result in removal from the position.
• Cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program) at appointment or during employment; being listed may lead to termination.
• If appointed, may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider, obtain and provide a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, and actively participate to allow billing through Medicare and Medicaid; loss of ability to bill may result in termination.

Pay

Registered Nurse Supervisors 1 Psychiatric are eligible for shift differential pay: 7% for evening and weekend day shifts, 10% for night shifts.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($82,326), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,852), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($104,230), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000).
