Registered Nurse SANE - Per Diem

Role Overview The RN SANE Peds provides high-quality, cost-effective care to sexual assault patients, conducting medical-forensic exams and evidence collection in accordance with state and hospital guidelines. Responsibilities Perform physical assessments and forensic exams of pediatric sexual assault patients.Collect and preserve evidence, maintaining chain of custody.Facilitate forensic photography and coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy groups.Identify and treat injuries, providing patient education on procedures, STD prevention, pregnancy, and follow-up.Offer crisis intervention and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.Participate in educational activities for healthcare providers, law enforcement, and the community.Provide legal testimony as needed and pursue ongoing professional development. Qualifications & Skills Completion of IAFN-accredited SANE P course with Illinois clinical components.Current Illinois RN licensure.Preferred: Baccalaureate in Nursing, experience in Emergency Medicine or women's health, and at least one year as a SANE RN.
