Registered Nurse SANE - Per Diem

Position: RN SANE Adult Type: Per Diem Location: Naperville, IL Summary: Provides high-quality, cost-effective care to patients reporting sexual assault, including conducting medical-forensic exams, evidence collection, and documenting findings per Illinois and hospital policies. Ensures patient privacy, coordinates with law enforcement and advocacy groups, and offers crisis intervention and patient education on health and safety topics. Demonstrates age-appropriate care considering physical and psychological needs. Responsibilities Include Performing physical and forensic assessments of sexual assault patientsCollecting and maintaining evidence with chain of custodyProviding patient education on exams, procedures, STD and pregnancy preventionCollaborating with law enforcement and community resourcesDelivering care with compassion, confidentiality, and sensitivityParticipating in training, education, and legal testimony as needed Qualifications Completed IAFN-accredited SANE A course with Illinois clinical componentsCurrent Illinois RN licensurePreferred: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, experience in emergency or women's health, and at least one year as a SANE RN Skills and Abilities: Strong assessment, evidence collection, documentation, crisis intervention, and communication skills. Ability to work with diverse patient populations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
