Registered Nurse SANE Adult - Per Diem

Position: RN SANE Adult Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL Type: Per Diem This role involves providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients reporting sexual assault, including conducting medical-forensic exams and evidence collection following Illinois and hospital guidelines. Responsibilities include performing physical assessments, obtaining evidence with proper consents, facilitating forensic photography, identifying and treating injuries, maintaining evidence chain of custody, and documenting all procedures. The nurse provides crisis intervention, ensures patient privacy and confidentiality, and coordinates with law enforcement and advocacy groups. Additionally, the role involves patient education on exams, procedures, STD and pregnancy prevention, and follow-up care, as well as participating in community and professional training. The position requires completion of an IAFN-accredited SANE A course with a clinical component, Illinois RN licensure, and ideally, experience in emergency medicine or women’s health. Skills include comprehensive forensic nursing, legal testimony, and ongoing professional development.
