Registered Nurse SANE Adult - Per Diem

Position: RN SANE Adult Location: Elmhurst, IL Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 per hour, based on experience and expertise This role involves providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients presenting with sexual assault, including conducting medical-forensic exams and evidence collection following Illinois and hospital protocols. Responsibilities include performing physical assessments, obtaining evidence with proper consent, facilitating forensic photography, identifying injuries requiring treatment, maintaining chain of custody, documenting assessments and evidence, and offering crisis intervention. The nurse will coordinate privacy-sensitive care, collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy groups, educate patients on exams and follow-up care, and provide legal testimony when needed. The role requires completion of an IAFN-accredited SANE A course with Illinois clinical components, with preferred qualifications including a higher nursing degree, emergency or women’s health experience, and prior SANE RN work. Certification must meet Illinois licensing standards. Skills include trauma-informed care, forensic procedures, evidence handling, patient advocacy, and effective communication.
