About the role
RN SANE Adult, providing specialized care for sexual assault patients in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical and forensic assessments
- Collect evidence following Illinois guidelines
- Document findings and ensure chain of custody
- Facilitate patient care
- Provide crisis intervention and educate patients on health and safety
- Coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy groups
- Maintain patient privacy and offer legal testimony when required
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development
- Contribute to community awareness efforts
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of IAFN-accredited SANE A course with Illinois clinical component
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience in emergency medicine or women's health preferred
- At least one year as a SANE RN preferred
- Current Illinois RN license and certification approval if applicable
