About the Role
The registered nurse provides patient-centered care within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. They utilize evidence-based practices and the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and state regulations.
- Assess patient conditions, interpret information, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, patients, and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications, including BLS and department-specific credentials.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program with at least 1 year of experience or completion of a nurse residency.
- Current, unrestricted Connecticut RN license and BLS certification.
Qualifications & Skills
- Preferred: BSN or MSN, 2+ years in a specific clinical area, and relevant certifications such as CNOR.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under stress, and maintain confidentiality.
