Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Unit

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care on a Surgical Inpatient Unit, caring for adult and pediatric patients recovering from various surgical procedures including orthopedic, urological, thoracic, vascular, gynecological, ENT, and general surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Coordinate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor patient conditions
• Educate patients and families
• Document care using electronic health records
• Participate in rounds and ensure effective communication
• Delegate tasks appropriately
• Promote safety, quality, and teamwork

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Certifications such as BLS
• Additional unit-specific certifications including ACLS, PALS, and stroke education depending on the department
