About the Role
This position involves providing expert nursing care within an oncology setting, utilizing the nursing process to manage patient health, administer treatments, and deliver patient education. The RN collaborates with healthcare providers, communicates effectively, maintains confidentiality, and ensures high-quality, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and chart health data
- Develop and execute individualized care plans
- Administer medications, including IV therapies and injections
- Assist providers during procedures and tests such as biopsies and IV placements
- Educate patients and families on treatments and health management
- Maintain documentation, ensure infection control, and manage supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare team and coordinate patient care activities
- Participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives
- Act as a patient advocate and manage resources effectively
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the practice state
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS/ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification (preferred)
- 1-3 years of oncology or infusion experience
