Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime
- Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy
- Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management
- Perform and fulfill all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies or disasters
- Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adhere to related policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Recent acute care experience (preferred)
- Current licensure, certification, or registration to practice as required by law, regulation, or hospital policy
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, if applicable by unit policy (required)
