Registered Nurse (RN) Childbirth Educator PRN
About the role
An OB RN Childbirth Educator joining our team is dedicated to making communities healthier. You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate childbirth education programs, providing education and support to expectant parents and families.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate childbirth education programs in accordance with established standards of care.
- Provide education and support to expectant parents and families, promoting informed decision-making and positive birth experiences.
- Demonstrate excellent teaching, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
- Understand and respond to the cultural, physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of childbirth, lactation, and parenting.
- Present information confidently and effectively in both group and individual settings.
- Utilize sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while working independently and collaboratively.
- Maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced, potentially stressful environment and take appropriate action when needed.
Requirements
- A current Michigan RN license.
- An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- Previous experience in OB and Childbirth Education.
- Childbirth Educator Certification (preferred).
- Annual influenza vaccination or declination.
