About the role
Provides nursing care to specific patient populations in a hospital setting, primarily during night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Conducts patient assessments and monitors conditions
- Administers medications safely and manages IV access
- Supports labor and delivery processes
- Ensures accurate documentation of patient care
- Advocates for patients and collaborates with healthcare team members
- Provides patient education and supports breastfeeding
- Responds to emergencies and maintains compliance with regulations
- Maintains infection control and safety standards
- Acts as a resource, preceptor, and trainer for staff
- Aims to improve patient satisfaction and work processes
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN license (or valid permit/compact license)
- Current BLS, ALS/ACLS, NRP, and electronic fetal monitoring certifications
- Excellent communication and independent judgment skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Maintains licensure and stays updated on nursing practices
- Adaptable to shift requirements, including floating within skillset
