Registered Nurse - PRN

About the role

Position Purpose: The Registered Nurse – Med/Surg works in a collaborative environment at Nazareth Hospital to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, assess patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan.
• Interpret and perform complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
• Function as a team member to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• Provide care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
• Serve patients across all age groups (Infant through Older Adults as identified in Performance Standards).

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or Compact State.
• Current Registered Nurse license by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or Compact State required.
• Prior relevant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Certifications aligned with area of responsibility; Minimum of BLS required.
