Registered Nurse - Pre-Admission Testing - Days

Location: Skokie, IL | Part-time, 20 hours per week

About the role

Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a pre-procedure setting. Collaborate with anesthesia teams and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through preoperative education and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone patient interviews prior to surgery
• Provide preoperative education to patients and families
• Collaborate with anesthesia teams to ensure safe, effective care
• Ensure completion of pre-surgical testing and documentation
• Utilize the nursing process for planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Guide and support unlicensed staff in patient care activities
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing standards and best practices
• Promote and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Active Illinois Nursing License
• Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Minimum of 5 years’ peri-anesthesia experience
• Strong background in pre-admission testing
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system
