Registered Nurse, Pediatric Operating Room, PRN, Days, Wolfson Children's Hospital

About the role

Baptist Health is looking to add a Registered Nurse to its Pediatric Operating Room at Wolfson Surgery Center. This is a PRN, day shift opportunity with a commitment of 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Check in and receive patient assignments
• Work as a Circulating Nurse: meet patients in the OR, remain with them for the duration of the procedure, and ensure appropriate care until transfer to PACU
• Serve as the patient’s primary advocate and deliver and document patient care during the intra-operative period
• Verify patient information, position the patient, manage the room, and initiate counts
• Coordinate and prepare assigned room/case
• Assess patients and anticipate needs of the case
• Perform accurate and complete documentation
• Maintain knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and sterilization processes

Experience Requirements

• 1–2 years perioperative nursing experience

Education And Certification Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Licensed Registered Nurse required

This position is designated as requiring a level II Background (a detailed fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that checks state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) and will undergo screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.
