About the role
This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity Neuroscience Center unit with a focus on adult neurological patients, including stroke, TBI, intracranial hemorrhage, and seizure disorders. The unit is a 24-bed unit recognized for excellence with awards including the Daisy and Beacon awards.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed neurological assessments
- Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP)
- Titrate medications
- Manage surgical drains, ventilators, and temperature regulation
- Utilize advanced technology such as telemetry monitoring
- Assist in critical tasks including seizure care and stroke management
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including LPNs, PCNAs, providers, and therapists to deliver comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Ohio RN licensure
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification (required for stroke management)
