Great opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work part-time in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago.
The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a 16-bed unit caring for a wide patient population, including diagnoses such as sepsis/septic shock, acute respiratory failure, post cardiac arrest, liver failure, and GI bleed. Nurses will use arterial lines, ventilators, intraortic balloon pumps, EKOs, and CRRT while caring for patients. The team includes a Clinical Nurse Specialist who focuses on nursing quality outcomes and staff education and support.
MICU is a dynamic, team-oriented, and committed group of nurses where everyone supports each other.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care to critically ill patients in the MICU.
- Manage a wide range of diagnoses, including sepsis, acute respiratory failure, post cardiac arrest, liver failure, and GI bleed.
- Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment such as arterial lines, ventilators, intraortic balloon pumps, EKOs, and CRRT.
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing (BSN or ADN).
- BLS Provider certification (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire.
- Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire.
- 1 year of Intensive Care Nursing experience preferred or 1 year of inpatient hospital experience.

Pay
Pay rate: $44.47–$52.25 per hour, depending on registry commitment. Actual compensation will fall within this range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
Schedule
Part-time, rotating shift.
