Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Unit
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordinating care with other health team members.
Responsibilities
- Absorbs and interprets patient information from various sources including the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and revise the plan of care, including patient education.
- Coordinates interdisciplinary care teams, delegates tasks, and coordinates care delivery.
- Provides or delegates care according to the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
- Evaluates patient responses to interventions and revises the plan of care as necessary.
- Promotes the nursing profession and participates in the development of others.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
- BLS for healthcare providers certification.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 12 months of experience.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Physical requirements include ongoing need for visual and manual dexterity, frequent interaction with patients and visitors, and ability to lift and move patients and supplies.
- Work schedule is 36 hours per week, with variable shifts.

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
