Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Day Shift

About the role

Provides direct and indirect patient care in various settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassion to deliver high-quality care while respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritization, along with other assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conducts appropriate and accurate patient assessments based on medical conditions.
• Administers medications as prescribed, understanding their usage.
• Provides age-appropriate care and supports basic self-care activities.
• Develops and evaluates patient and family education plans.
• Uses nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Collaborates with team members to coordinate care.
• Assists physicians with procedures, utilizing technical and manual skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs and communicates with social services for discharge planning.
• Practices cost-effective resource management.
• Prioritizes patient safety and promotes harm reduction.
• Engages in lifelong learning to enhance nursing expertise.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred certifications include ACLS/PALS.
