Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology Specialty Unit (Normal)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a 30-bed oncology unit serving patients aged 18 and older. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, development and implementation of individualized care plans, administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy, and management of general medical as well as palliative and end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy
• Manage general medical and palliative/end-of-life care
• Ensure accurate documentation and patient safety oversight
• Provide emotional support for patients and families
• Perform IV placement, dressing changes, medication administration, and port access
• Adhere to departmental standards and competencies

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Nursing education from an accredited program
• Experience with inpatient chemotherapy, radiation, and oncology care (preferred)
