Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Observation

About the role

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, delegation, and evaluation for a diverse patient population. The nurse acts as a primary or accountable caregiver based on unit assignment, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Administer medications safely, utilizing knowledge of pharmacology in accordance with policies.
• Contribute to staffing efficiency, resource utilization, and unit productivity.
• Adhere to nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Participate in shared governance, quality improvement, and peer review activities.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, research integration, and mentorship for new staff and students.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, aligning with organizational values.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a current RN license.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, relevant clinical experience, and specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS).

Work Environment

The role involves working in clinical and office settings, with frequent movement and exposure to cleaning agents and PPE. The patient demographic includes all age groups, with access to non-restricted patient information based on clinical roles.
