Registered Nurse - Internal Travel Team - PCU

About the role

The registered nurse (RN) in the Internal Travel Team provides patient care across multiple Mayo Clinic sites in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, supporting various units including PCU and Med/Surg. The RN is responsible for coordinating nursing care, patient/family education, and care transitions, adhering to professional standards and the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model.

Responsibilities

• Complete orientation, including FCCN and ACLS certifications (or PCCN as a substitute).
• Provide direct patient care, support professional nursing practices, and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Delegate patient care based on skill, experience, and resource availability.
• Support staffing needs across Mayo Clinic sites, traveling routinely to different locations.
• Mentor, lead, and contribute to committees or projects, demonstrating excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of RN experience in PCU or ICU settings.
• External traveler or float pool experience preferred.
• Current multi-state RN licenses and BLS certification required.

Skills

• Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills; experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

This nonexempt role offers a fixed hourly rate and a travel stipend.
